Spanware™ Sanitary IMP- Anchors
September 14, 2021
Sanitary Food Processing projects present many unique challenges to electrical and mechanical contractors trying to mount conduits or pipes. Sanitary applications require stainless steel to handle constant washing and cleaning of the supports.
If you’re an engineer, architect, or general contractor who works with insulated metal panels, no doubt you’ve been faced with the challenge of attaching enclosures, pipes, and conduit to those IMP panels. Insulated metal panels consist of a polystyrene/polyurethane core that is sandwiched between laminations of rigidized, galvanized steel.
While IMP panel is a rigid, well-insulated, cost-effective construction material, the composition makes the attachment of conduit, pipe, and industrial components to its surface a challenge. In the past, our options have been to use an all-thread rod (ATR) in combination with fender washers and silicone, or Fab-Lok fasteners and Molly bolts. Neither of which is ideal from a strength or sanitation standpoint. The solution for this challenge is to use Food Grade Strut® IMP-Anchor assemblies to attach components to insulated metal panel walls.
Spanware™ Sanitary IMP- Anchors offer high load ratings of food-grade sanitary design and most importantly they offer an excellent air and vapor-tight seal up against the panel to which they’re installed.
Unistrut Midwest offers no cost design support on any Food Grade Sanitary Mounting system. Our sales team has decades of experience working with Unistrut products and would be glad to assist with your project.
