How the Unistrut Midwest Distribution Team is Evolving to Meet Customer Needs
Posted by Will Brown on September 23, 2026
Since the start of my career at Unistrut Midwest, I have seen our distribution team evolve in real time. What was once a resource for stock material orders has become a team that is critical to meeting the increasingly demanding timelines of today's construction projects. The Unistrut Midwest distribution team has risen to the challenge of today's evolving customer needs, and we will continue to do so moving forward.

From Distribution Team to Solution Partner
For many years, our distribution team served a straightforward purpose. When a customer placed a material request, the distribution team responded with our inventory and availability. Because we have the largest on-hand Unistrut inventory in the country, our quick lead times were often our biggest advantage.
But as construction timelines accelerate, even our fast fulfillment times are not enough to keep up with the demanding schedules. To keep our customers on track, our distribution team has grown from a material request resource into a solution partner.
As opposed to only asking the customer what standard stock lengths or parts they need, our distribution team digs deeper. We learn about the problem being solved and the overall solution and offer ways that we can help expedite their timeline or take tasks off of their to-do list. Often that looks like cutting Unistrut to custom lengths, fabricating pieces with drilled holes, or kitting parts of the solution for streamlined assembly.

By customizing our distribution deliverables, we are able to help clients stay on track or even reduce their timelines. The changing industry has demanded that we grow for our customers, and we have plans to continue doing so well into the future.
The Future of Unistrut Midwest Distribution
To keep up with customer demand, Unistrut Midwest is expanding our warehouse and establishing a new fabrication center, adding up to 200,000 square feet of space. As a company, we have decided that this is the next step needed to support our customers' current and future needs.
Additional square footage will allow us to store even more inventory than we already do, continuing to help us shorten lead times. It will also give us more space for additional equipment so that we can increase how many customer projects we can handle at once. With more inventory and more machinery, we also have the opportunity to hire more personnel to keep customer orders running smoothly.
We are excited to take this next step to help us keep up with demand and to continue delivering for our customers.
