You Don’t Need a Sikla Distributor, You Need a Sikla Partner
June 16, 2026
Sikla siFramo solutions are gaining popularity as an alternative to welded steel thanks to Sikla's ease of use, customization opportunities, and ability to shorten construction timelines. While the Sikla system is inherently more adaptable than traditional welded steel, the true advantages of Sikla lie in how solutions are engineered. That requires more than just a Sikla distributor; you need a true Sikla partner.
About the Sikla System
Sikla siFramo is a weldless, configurable, reusable metal framing system. The modular steel box section channels are perforated on all four sides, allowing for multidirectional connections at the same point for solutions like volumetric racks. The box sections have a higher torsional resistance than conventional beams and weigh significantly less. And, unlike welded steel, Sikla's bolted system allows for quick modifications, endless design flexibility, and minimal installation time.

One of the greatest advantages of using Sikla materials is the inherent time savings thanks to Sikla siFramo's self-forming screw. The threads of the Sikla screw cold form into the pilot holes on each siFramo section, causing the steel to reshape and harden around the screw. The low thread-forming torque and resulting high clamping force create a vibration-proof connection.
The self-forming screw is used for all connections to and from a Sikla beam, making it the only fastener needed for a build; no backplates, carriage bolts, nuts, or washers needed. It can be installed using common hand tools by anyone on your team, no specialty certifications or permits required.
But just because anyone can assemble a Sikla siFramo solution doesn't mean that you should trust just anyone to design one.
Sikla Engineered Solutions
While a Sikla solution is simple enough for your team to assemble on site, the effectiveness of your solution depends on its design and engineering. Anyone can sell you a Sikla beam, but knowing how to best leverage the material and work around your restrictions is what takes someone from being merely a Sikla distributor to being a valuable Sikla partner.
A Sikla solution is typically made up of a combination of Sikla's standard configurations, but by working with an experienced Sikla partner like Unistrut Midwest, you can turn those standard configurations into a custom support solution. Our team is deeply knowledgeable in Sikla's accessories, weight limits, and connection methods, allowing us to meet your requirements with an innovative solution. When this knowledge is paired with our decades of Unistrut experience, our team is able to value engineer your solution, working within budget constraints while delivering on strength.
Sikla Prefabrication
Over our years of experience creating custom Sikla solutions, our team has developed a prefabrication process that further leverages Sikla's time-saving characteristics.

With prefabrication, anything that can be accomplished prior to installation is completed off-site. For many Sikla solutions, this includes building the entire system, loading the support structure with necessary utilities, and even installing drywall and other finish materials. Our process typically follows these steps:
-
-
-
Analysis
Our team performs an analysis of your project scope, specifications, and requirements before collaborating with you to determine what will make an optimal solution that is tailored to your project.
-
Design/Engineering
Our in-house engineering team applies its Sikla expertise to design a solution that solves your challenges while working effectively within your budget. -
Assembly
Once designs are approved, our in-house team begins assembling your Sikla solution in our warehouse at specially-equipped work stations, increasing safety and efficiency over on-site assembly. -
Utility Installation
With the support solution built, utilities like pipes, cable trays, and HVAC are attached, and lifting and installation points are established through deflection engineering. -
Shipping
The solution is shipped to your site, ready for installation.
-
-
Completing this work off-site greatly streamlines the installation process, minimizing the amount of required on-site man-hours. Many Sikla solutions can be installed and ready to use in less than a day. That speed to market is a game-changer for projects with tight turnarounds and short timelines.

None of these benefits would be possible without an experienced, trusted Sikla partner like Unistrut Midwest. Not only can our team source your Sikla products, but we can also design, engineer, prefabricate, and install your entire solution.
